The Metro reports that Arsene Wenger is reportedly pondering whether to make a move for long-time target Yann M’Vila after the midfielder was involved in a spat with national coach Laurent Blanc along with a few other players. Although the Arsenal manager is a big fan of the player’s exceptional talent, he has supposedly been put off because of the 21-year old’s poor disciplinary record, which has seen him being arrested thrice in the past two years. Just when the Rennes midfielder looked set to arrive at the Emirates, his poor off-field habits has cast a doubt over the move.
Arsenal are finally set to offload Sebastien Squillaci according to the French media outlet MaxiFoot, who report that the veteran defender is heading back to his home country, with Ligue 2 side Bastia said to be his destination.
Arsene Wenger has continued on his big-spending spree as Arsenal finally signed Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud. The Gunners paid between £12-13m for the Frenchman, who netted 21 goals last season to help Montpellier to a fairytale Ligue 1 title. The 25 year old now joins another summer arrival Lukas Podolski in what should be an exciting attack line for the Gunners.
