Manchester United have stepped up a gear in their pursuit of Porto’s James Rodriguez according to the Daily Mail who report that the Portuguese club have turned down a £30m offer from the Red Devils. But Sir Alex Ferguson isn’t about to be deterred by the rejection as the veteran manager has seemingly made the 20-year old a top transfer target, although we personally find it hard to believe United would part with such an astronomical amount for a raw talent.
Manchester United youngster Federico Macheda, who was linked with a move back to Italy, is likely to remain with the Red Devils, says his agent. The 20 year-old moved to the Premier League club in 2007 from Serie A side Lazio. However, he has failed in making a serious impact, managing just 6 appearances for United last term and even playing for QPR on loan for the second half of the season. In the wake of limited interest in the player, his agent has said, “I believe that Federico will remain with Manchester United.”
