Weds 6th March – Tottenham daily news round up

All the talk at Tottenham has been about Gareth Bale this season but Aaron Lennon has been equally effective down the right-wing. And the diminutive winger could be the subject of a £8 million bid from Inter Milan. According to the Metro, the Italian giants are keen on the England international but could be turned down by the 25-year old if Spurs qualify for next season’s Champions League. However, things could get worse for the north London club if they fail to finish in the top-four with Bale and Lennon both looking at possible departures.

Manchester United are set to face competition for the signature of Porto star James Rodriguez as the Express understands that the 20-year old winger is attracting interest from Spurs. Porto have valued Rodriguez at close to £25 million and United are hoping to swap the player for the under-fire Nani, while Tottenham have identified him as a possible replacement for Gareth Bale.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham may be in line for a battle at the end of the season as the Metro reports that the duo are chasing Feyenoord youngster Jordy Clasie. The 21-year old midfielder has been compared to Barcelona ace Xavi in terms of his playing style and also attracted interest from Italian side Fiorentina.

The Champions League game between Manchester United and Real Madrid was the talk of the footballing world and only the lucky few got the chance to witness the action live from inside Old Trafford. And one of those in attendance was Gareth Bale. The Daily Mail reports that the Tottenham hotshot was present at the stadium which would fuel further speculation about his reported move to Real Madrid in the summer. Tottenham though are planning to hold talks with the player to offer him improved terms to extend his stay at the club.
