The Arsenal contract rebel Samir Nasri is set for new talks with Arsene Wenger this week, with the outcome still to be decided. Wenger mentioned that he was confident he could persuade Nasri to stay at Arsenal next season.
Nasri himself told fans not to believe the rumours, but refused to commit himself to a definite yes to staying, but Wenger is expected to put an increased offer on the table sanctioned by Stan Kroenke.
The People thinks that Nasri is still a target for Manchester United, although Wenger has told Alex Ferguson (in no uncertain terms) that there is no chance of the 23 year-old going to Old Trafford, but they also say that the Italian giants Inter Milan have a team waiting in London to wait for the outcome of the talks.
Nasri’s agent, Alain Migliaccio said last week: “I want to clarify that there has been no break with the Gunners over the contract renewal and we should meet again soon with Arsene Wenger
“There are a few clubs interested in Samir, but it is useless to name them. Before listening to other teams, we need and we want to talk with Arsenal.”
Once the talks are complete, Arsenal fans should have a better idea of whether their star will be staying or not, but if it goes badly Inter will be waiting and ready to pounce……
