Newcastle United playmaker Yohan Cabaye has lost his chance to move to either Manchester United or Arsenal, this summer.
The Gunners had reportedly tabled a £10 million bid for the Frenchman, only to be told by the Magpies to come back with an improved offer. It is believed that Newcastle were only willing to negotiate bids in the region of £20 million.
As the transfer window drew to a close, Arsenal acquired the services of German playmaker Mesut Ozil with Manchester United also landing Belgian Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford. And Cabaye, who was considered only as a Plan B option for both clubs, was left rueing his bad luck.
It had been recently reported that Cabaye has also grown disillusioned with his stay at St. James’ Park, after seeing his club fare so atrociously last season. He is desperately keen to move to greener pastures and will now attempt to force a move away from the club in the winter to ensure his World Cup hopes don’t take a beating playing at a low profile club.
